Adagio – J. B. Loeillet – Sheet Music for the Flute

Sheet Music for the Flute

Adagio

for Flute and Guitar or Keyboard

composed by J. B.Loeillet

This is a serene and emotive composition for the flute, created several centuries ago during the Baroque Era (1685-1750).
My initial encounter with this piece was through a remarkable performance by the esteemed Australian jazz musician, Don Burrows, accompanied by George Golla on electric guitar.
Jean-Baptiste Loeillet of London (November 18, 1680 – July 19, 1730) was a versatile musician who composed and played music on various instruments such as the recorder, flute, oboe, and harpsichord.
Another talented musician from the same era, with the same name, Jean-Baptiste Loeillet from Gant, also composed similar works.
Unfortunately, it remains uncertain which of them precisely composed this exquisite piece, so I acknowledge both for their contributions.Adagio - Flute Sheet Music
